This Saturday, June 15th, will be my last shift at UCSF. To mark the transition to full-time private practice without working at another gym or spa, I am making a special offer.
Through July 15th, clients new to my private practice as well as to existing clients can take advantage of a 40% discount in a few different ways. Clients new to my private practice will be able to choose up to 2 single-session 60- or 90-minute appointments, or they may be pre-pay for a 3-session package. Existing clients may redeem a 40% discount on a single 60- or 90-minute session. Regular Rates, Single-Session
60 minutes – $90
90 minutes – $120
In addition to the Transitions Special through July 15th, I am working to put out a regular newsletter. My goal is to send out a newsletter somewhere between every couple of weeks to about monthly. It will cover news about my practice, general health-related news, and perhaps special offers. I hope that it will be something informative and entertaining that you will look forward to reading and sharing with your friends. Please take this opportunity to sign up.
It seems a little surprising to me that my last blog post was a year ago, but for a recent poem. A few changes.
In the big change for my massage practice, I am moving the bulk of my private practice to bodyFi, a personal training studio opening a new location at 19th & Mission St. This will entail some rate changes, with single session rates going up to $90 for an hour and $120 for 90 minutes. But I will also be emphasizing packages more and begin a Loyalty Program. A new package that I am offering is a 2-session Intro Pack for clients new to my private practice. Packages discount the single session fee from $10 up to $23 off.
For clients that are coming in consistently, meaning 10 visits or more in a year, they will get a $23 discount on single-session, one hour or 90 minute massage appointments. If you have know you are going to be away for an extended period, let me know, and I will be happy to honor your loyalty discount when you return. If you notice the packages, I do have 10 session options which get you into the Loyalty Program automatically.
I will still be available in my Potrero Hill location on Fridays and by appointment on Sundays. Tuesdays through Thursdays, I will be at BodyFi up to eight hours per day with hours ranging from 11:00am-7:00pm or 1:00pm-9:00pm. Appointments can be requested up to 24 hours in advance via my Book Now link. For same day appointments, sometimes walk-ins may be available, but the best method to check availability and schedule is to call 415-647-2829.
Come check out my new location in bodyFi at 2310 Mission St. at 19th & Mission, and perhaps check out their personal training and class options.
I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, but have been waiting for some work-related changes to settle in. The short version is that I’m now working two new places in addition to my private home practice.
On March 6th, I had my first massage shift at UCSF’s Bakar Fitness & Recreation Center at Mission Bay. This is great for anyone who would prefer to see me in an office location rather than in my home office. I currently have regular shifts on Saturday’s from 2:30 to 7:30pm, Sunday’s from 9:00am to 2:00pm, and a sub shift Tuesday’s from 4:00 to 9:00pm (beginning April 6th). Gym members and UCSF students & staff may schedule online via the UCSF Fitness & Recreation Center website. Non-members may schedule by calling the Service Desk at (415) 514-4545.
On February18th, I began doing seated massage with On the Spot Massage at Whole Foods SoMa location in San Francisco. This is a great way for people to get a massage as a tune-up or a quick therapeutic treatment. I’m available Thursdays from 3:30 to 8:00pm. Appointments are on a walk-in basis only.
I’m continuing to test Practice Fusion‘s Electronic Health Record system as well as their Personal Health Record. I originally posted separately about that here. Having two new practice locations does change how I can implement it, not because of anything regarding the record system, but rather due to how things work at UCSF and with On the Spot Massage. If you’re interested in testing this EHR & PHR system with me in my private practice, sign up with me for 10 sessions of either 60 or 90 minutes each. I’ll discount these sessions as a package to $600 or $750 respectively, which can be paid in three installments of $200 or $250.
Finally, if you haven’t read my post on changes associated with the Chinese New Year back in February, take a moment to look at it. I think it’s a fun perspective on these changes in my professional life as well as on some on some of the volatility I’ve seen in events and the lives of people around me.
I’ve joined Heidi Kao’s Integrative Healing Clinic in Glen Park. Monday’s through Wednesday’s, I will be offering services in this wonderful, large, well-lit space. Saturday’s will also be available on and on-call basis. Thursday’s, Friday’s, and Sunday’s I will continue to be available out of my home. The clinic is easily accessible to Bart, Muni, and the freeway.

I am pleased to announce that I have added online scheduling via Genbook. This will allow scheduling 24 hours a day. In addition, following an appointment scheduled via Genbook, clients may fill out a review of their experience.
